Ring Blower

An impeller that spins inside of a housing is the common component of all regenerative ring blowers. The term “side channel blowers” refers to the fact that this housing has both an intake channel and an outboard channel.

Air is sucked in and held between the impeller blades as it travels past the intake port. The air is forced both inward and outward through both channels as the impeller rotates, and this process continues until the impeller stops. The side channel blower’s ability to work as both a pressure blower and a vacuum blower is due to the regenerative process. A powerful continuous operating pressure can be achieved by adding all of the impeller blades together, from intake to output, even if the air trapped between two impeller blades only causes a modest pressure rise.

Industrial Ring blowers are produced for use in both vacuum and pressure applications. While vacuum blowers are frequently used as vacuum pumps or fume/dust exhausters, ring blowers for pressure are typically configured for use as air supply units or compressors.
