Laser & Plasma Cutting
Laser and plasma cutting are methods are widely adopted by many of the
industries for metal & plastic cutting. Use of these laser or plasma
cutting instruments may release several carcinogens such as asbestos,
ethyl acrylate, chromium, Silica fumes, etc. into the working environment.
These pollutants can cause dermatological as well as pulmonary illness such as:
- Retinal Irritation
- Dermatological irritation
- Occupational Asthma
- Reduced Liver functioning
- Lung infection
- Metal Fume Fever
Laser and Plasma Cutting Environment
Laser / Plasma Cutting apparatus should not be setup up in a confined space.
Proper ventilation must be provided to the operating area.
Places with poor ventilation should be avoided at all costs.
Safety Glasses / Masks / Respirators must be used when such machines are in operation.
Fume Extraction System must be used to avoid health hazards.
Fumes from Plasma / Laser cutting must be contained (advisably) at its source.
Most operations ensure at-source containment easily but if it is not possible then
such air must be treated or removed before it enters operators breathing zone.
Air Mech Industrial Technologies provides various types of "Bench" & fume extraction
and filtration systems to help to attain a better working environment.
